Helmet (Khud)

A perfect example of a Mughal Helmet made of steel. The hemispherical helmet has a gold-plated fluted knob surmounted at the center, with a pointed arrowhead. The helmet is beautifully decorated with two borders on top and bottom with intricately damascened in gold with floral and leafy designs with fluted borders on the margins. Between the two borders, on the surface of the helmet, there are damascened symmetrical leaf motifs with geometric patterns inside them.
The chain mail is attached to the hemispherical rim for the protection of the back of the head, neck and shoulders, and the forehead.
The helmet from inside is padded with velvet stuffed with cotton wool.
The condition of the helmet is good, and the chain mail is intact without much damage.
